Be a good neighbor - pick up after your pooch!
Posted on Jan 30th, 2012
Owners and residents are required by the Association’s deed restrictions and the City of Frisco to pick up their pet’s waste. Dog owners must pick up after their pets regardless if the waste is on their own property, a neighbor’s property, the Association’s property, sidewalk, vacant lot or open field. Please don’t walk across the street and allow your dog to use your neighbor’s lawn, use your own lawn.
Dog owners are also required to walk their dogs on a leash at all times. Even if your pet is very well trained, it still must be on a leash when outside of your home. It is natural for a dog to bark occasionally, but habitual and frequent dog barking is a violation of the City of Frisco’s Animal Ordinance. Owners, please be courteous of your neighbors and keep the dog barking to a minimum. If you know an owner whose dog is barking excessively and you know the owner’s address, please notify Frisco’s Animal Services at 972-292-5303. Animal Services can also address issues such as too many animals and stray animals. You will need to provide the location, specifics of your concern and daytime contact information.
Thank you to all the responsible dog owners in the community!

Stage 3 Water Restrictions in Effect
Posted on Nov 23rd, 2011
FRISCO MOVES TO ‘STAGE 3’ DROUGHT RESTRICTIONS NOV. 1; URGES RESIDENTS TO ‘TURN OFF’ SPRINKLER SYSTEMS
Effective November 1, the City of Frisco moved to Stage 3 drought restrictions as outlined in its Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Response Plan at the direction of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). (To read the flyer from the City of Frisco, click here.)
The NTMWD reports Lavon Lake could be dry by fall 2012, under worst case conditions.
During the October 17 Town Hall meeting, North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) representative Mike Rickman cautioned residents to use water wisely. Gary Hartwell, Frisco’s Director of Public Works, reiterated the importance of shutting off sprinklers.
“Just turn your automatic sprinkler systems off,” said Hartwell. “That’s probably the best thing you can do for your landscapes this time of year. There’s really no reason to water during fall and winter. We need to take this opportunity to save water and do what we can to help protect our existing water supplies,” said Hartwell.
Lawns and landscapes need little to no outdoor watering. Warm season grasses, such as Bermuda or St. Augustine, go dormant during fall and winter months. ‘Dormant’ means grasses naturally turn brown during cooler months. (Click here for additional guidelines.)

Petition for Streelight at Eldorado and Lenox
Posted on Oct 10th, 2011
Attached is a petition for the City of Frisco and/or the Texas Department of Transportation to address the safety issues at the intersection of Eldorado Parkway and Lenox Lane. In August, there was a major accident at this intersection due to the lack of traffic control. This petition was drafted by a concerned homeowner in Newman Village in an effort to get support from surrounding communities.
In the coming weeks, Newman Village residents will be knocking on doors in Griffin Parc with the petition and asking for your support.
You may also contact the City of Frisco and/or the Texas Department of Transportation with your concerns and support:

Newman Village Asks Griffin Parc Residents to Help!
Posted on Aug 18th, 2011
The residents of Newman Village are asking for help from Griffin Parc homeowners in getting a street light installed at the intersection of Lenox and Eldorado. This stretch of Eldorado Parkway (FM 2934) is a State road, which is operated, maintained and controlled by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Newman Village has funds set aside for this street light, and the City of Frisco has approved it. Newman Village needs your help to get TxDOT to approve the installation of the street light.
Please call or write to the City of Frisco Council and TxDOT to install a street light at this intersection. Also, requesting a crosswalk at this intersection adds to the importance of a street light.

Yesterday at 4:00 p.m. there was a major accident injuring one of the residents at this intersection. Next week additional traffic for the schools will add more congestion to a dangerous intersection, plus the 50 mph speed limit makes this an even more dangerous intersection. If TxDOT will reduce the speed limit to 45 mph this will help improve the safety and reduce the road noise for both communities. There is no school zone on Eldorado and a speed limit of 50 mph by your school. Traffic tickets cannot be written for warning signs on Eldorado.
Thank you for your help!

City of Frisco's "Clean It and Green It"
Saturday, April 21st, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Calling all Frisco Homeowners Associations to action!
It’s that time again - this year, the City of Frisco’s annual “Clean It and Green It” community clean-up event is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st! During this event, volunteers from all over the city will be picking up litter and beautifying Frisco to celebrate Earth Day. Beginning at 9am, volunteers will clean up their assigned areas of Frisco, finishing up in time for a lunch provided by IKEA of Frisco at around 11:30am. Other fun Earth Day festivities will take place after the morning cleanup in IKEA’s parking lot.
It’s easy to help keep Frisco Clean and Green: you may pre-register your volunteer group for this event ahead of time by contacting Molly Kinson, Environmental Education Coordinator, with the name of your group and how many volunteers you expect to participate. When you pre-register, we can provide you with safety-green T-shirts, trash bags, gloves and other supplies in advance so that your group can start right on time on cleanup day. Otherwise, volunteers will meet in the IKEA parking lot before 9am to pick up supplies. Additionally, you may choose an area within your housing subdivision to clean on the morning of the event, or we can assign you one. Contact Molly Kinson at 972-292-5914 or mkinson@friscotexas.gov to pre-register today!
As our city continues to grow in leaps and bounds, it is truly up to our citizens to help Keep Frisco Beautiful. We look forward to cleaning up Frisco alongside your organization. Let’s all Clean It and Green It together on Saturday, April 21st!
