Yard of the Month Program

Griffin Parc is a great place to live, and the residents are committed to not just maintaining, but improving the appearance of the community. The HOA is pleased to launch Griffin Parc’s Yard of the Month program. The idea of promoting goodwill – and some friendly competition between residents – is a win-win for the entire community! Residents will be rewarded for exemplary lawn and property maintenance. Candidates will be judged solely on the total exterior appearance of their property and the front yard as viewed from the street.

• Members of Griffin Parc’s Landscape Committee will serve as Yard of the Month judges.

• There will be three (3) winners announced and Yard of the Month signs posted on the 15th of each month. All award winners will receive an official “Yard of the Month” lawn sign to be placed in their front yard for the duration of their award, and a gift card for $50.00. Winners will also be recognized on Griffin Parc’s website (www.griffinparchoa.com).

• The Yard of the Month program will run May through September. During the months of October and December, Holiday Yards of the Month will be selected based on maintenance and decorations.

• The judges will look for the following when selecting Yard of the Month candidates:

- Lawn must be healthy, neatly mowed and edged
- Trees must be pruned, foliage trimmed and shaped
- Shrub beds must have defined borders
- Plants must be healthy and living
- Yard must be free of debris and clutter
- Houses, fences, porches and patios on the property must be in good repair
- The use of color and texture in the design will be taken into consideration
- The property must have a creative, unique curb appeal
- Balance of design must be appropriate to the house and lot size
- Overall aesthetic appeal is important
- House numbers should be attractively displayed
- Overall, the property must have a pleasing appearance, making it an asset to the community

• In October and December, yards will be judged solely on the total exterior appearance of the property and front yard as viewed from the street level:

- Holiday enthusiasm, aesthetic balance
- Use of materials such as lights, sounds and inflatables
- Creative use of holiday imagery
- A unique, inventive and thoughtful layout

• Winners must be willing to have photos of their yards taken and published on Griffin Parc’s website.

Let’s make Griffin Parc an even greater place to live! Owners who take pride in their homes, their property and their yards are encouraged to do a superior job. In turn, the Yard of the Month program will celebrate and publicly recognize their efforts!
