Building Permits for Home Improvement Projects - City of Frisco

Published: March 30, 2021

The Building Inspections and Code Enforcement Division wanted to share some tips for completing successful home improvement projects. See the attached handout for details of what is required to submit a residential permit. Primary homeowner responsibilities include;

    • Confirm that work on your property has all required building permits by contacting Building Inspections or visiting eTrakit. The City’s electronic permitting system has expedited service for heating/cooling systems, roofs with the same material, water heaters, doors and windows, and minor electrical and plumbing projects.
    • Confirm that the contractor(s) you select are registered with the City (check their Registration status on eTrakit).
    • Confirm that all necessary inspections are requested. Visit eTrakit to schedule an inspection and see the current day’s inspections.

Questions: Contact Building Inspections by email or phone at 972-292-5301.
